About Me
Helena Mueller was born and raised in Hartland, Wisconsin, a small town somewhere between the land of cows and Milwaukee. Apparently Wisconsin wasn't cold enough for her, so she headed north to Minneapolis to study English and Theatre Performance at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, graduating with a BA in 2019.
During the summer of 2018, Helena crossed the pond to attend a Shakespeare program at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). She fell in love with the rigor of classical actor training and returned the following year to pursue an MA in Classical Acting. She graduated from LAMDA in October 2020 and has called New York City home ever since.
Since then, Helena's creative life has grown in directions she never quite anticipated. While she continues to work as an actor and voice artist, she has also become a producer, writer, and arts administrator. In 2022, she helped found MAD Company, a New York-based nonprofit theatre company dedicated to breathing new perspectives into classical stories. She became the company's Executive Director in 2024 and has since led the development of new theatrical works, live events, and original audio dramas.
Whether performing, producing, writing, or collaborating behind the scenes, Helena is drawn to stories that connect the past to the present and elevates the voices of women onstage and off. She believes great art is an act of community-building, and she's happiest when creating work that sparks connection and curiosity.
